최고의 재즈 베이시스트 중 한명으로 존경받고 있는 Bunny Brunel이 무려 5년간의 작업끝에

[Bunny Brunel & Friends - Bass Ball]이라는 타이틀로 새앨범을 발표했다.

근데, 말이 친구지, 면면을 보면 화려하다 못해 입이 떡 벌어질 정도다.

연주력으로 그리고 바쁘기로 둘째가라면 서러워 할 연주자들을 이렇게 한 앨범에 담아 놓았으니

어찌 5년이란 시간이 걸리지 않았겠는가.

사실, 이러한 구성은 스탠리 클락이 먼저 했었다.
정확치가 않아서 찾아봤더니 2002년이다.
재즈,락 할 것없이 베이스 연주 죽이게 한다는 인간들 다 모아놓고

[Night School: An Evening With Stanley Clarke & Friends]라는 공연 영상을 DVD로 발매 한적이 있는 데,

꽤나 입소문이 나서 많이들 봤을 것이라고 생각된다.
혹, 못보셨다면 한 번 보시기 바란다.

눈이 무척이나 즐거울테니..

 

참고로, 본작에서 스탠리 클락이 전곡에서 피쳐링에 가담하고 있다.
문득, 재즈팬의 한 사람으로서 이러한 앨범을 기획하고 발매해 준 버니 브루넬에게 고마운 마음이 생긴다.

수록곡의 좋고 나쁨을 떠나서 오감을 만족시켜 주는 앨범이기에...

듣는 내내 즐겁고도 즐겁구나....
