■ 비틀즈의 [Magical Mystery Tour]는 영국반으로는 9번째에 해당하는 앨범이고, 미국반으로는 15번째 앨범이 된다. 미국에서는 1967년 11월에, 영국에서는 12월에 각각 발매가 되었다.

■ 본 작은 비틀즈 주연의 TV 프로그램 '매지컬 미스테리 투어'의 사운드 트랙이 되며,영화의 내용은 단순하게 비틀즈의 4명의 멤버가 버스를 타고 여행을 가는 내용으로 그해 12월에 BBC에서 방영되었다고 한다.

■ 이러한 구상은 폴 매카트니(Paul McCartney)가 1967년 6월 [Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band]의 레코딩을 마친 뒤, 이루어진 것이라고 하며 즉각 곡 작업에 돌입하게 된다.

■ 앨범[Magical Mystery Tour]가 사운드트랙이긴 하지만 실제로 영화에 삽입된 곡은 첫번째 트랙에서 여섯번째 트랙까지이며, 나머지 트랙은 비틀즈의 싱글곡을 모아놓은 것이 된다. 

■ 비틀즈에게 앨범[Magical Mystery Tour]는 1964년 [A Hard Day 's Night], 1965년 [Help!]에 이어 세번째 사운드트랙 앨범으로 기록된다.
